JEHLE HOUSE
BACKDROP FOR LIFE, HONG KONG
The location for the building was by the sea, so that the finished apartments would have totally unobstructed view of the sea east of Hong Kong. Our aim was to create an environment which took the client’s life requirement and the natural surrounding into account. The principle was to treat the house as a backdrop for life. Over-design and dictatorial settings were to be meticulously avoided. Range of change in lifestyle must be provided rather than restricted by the design. This principle was required by the naked architecture approach.
